I founded Rösalu Studio in 2021 on a simple bet: that the most thoughtful People Operations work in a company doesn't have to come from a forty-person consultancy or a six-figure engagement. It can come from one senior practitioner with deep operational range — and a small, intentionally curated network of specialists when the work calls for it.

I spent the decade before that building People functions inside fast-growing companies — from being the first HR employee at a now-public marketplace company to leading a global People function through a full acquisition. The pattern I kept seeing: founders and small leadership teams trying to hold together HR systems that had outgrown the scaffolding they were built on, and a market that mostly offered them two bad options. Hire a big consultancy that delivered slide decks. Or hire someone in-house too soon, before the company knew what to look for.

Rösalu Studio exists for the third option. Senior, hands-on, founder-led. Designed to do the work, not just frame it. FOUNDER

I'm martyse Rosario, founder of Rösalu Studio.

For more than a decade, I've built People Operations from the ground up — across B2B SaaS, technology, life sciences, retail, manufacturing, and logistics. I joined a now-public marketplace company as its first HR employee at ~20 people and helped scale the People function to support 150+ corporate employees and 1,000+ contractors across all 50 states. I joined a venture-backed tech company as employee #6 and built the global People function through a full acquisition. I've supported organizations as small as six people and as large as 450 across multiple facilities and continents.

Along the way, I built things that moved real numbers. I designed performance systems that lifted performance 17% quarter-over-quarter. I rebuilt onboarding programs that improved 90-day retention by 83%. I implemented HRIS platforms that cut onboarding time by 85% and improved turnover by 45%. I led succession planning for organizations of 450+ employees across thirteen facilities. I helped a life sciences co-working network drive $1.2M in revenue growth and 25% membership expansion through better people and operational strategy.

I've sat in rooms where the right call protected someone's career, and rooms where the wrong system cost the company a year of progress. Both shaped how I work. My practice lives at the intersection of five tightly connected disciplines: People Ops strategy and systems design; performance and manager enablement; compensation and job architecture; employee relations and investigations; and DEI and team building.

I started Rösalu Studio because the kind of senior People Ops partner I would have wanted to hire as an internal leader — thoughtful enough to design real systems, small enough to actually care about the business, senior enough to be in the room when it counts — didn't exist for companies between 10 and 100 people. So I built it.

Rösalu Studio works with founder-led teams who know their HR is held together by string and good intentions, and who need a partner who can see the whole system, name what's broken, and design the path forward without bringing in a Big Four-sized engagement to do it.
